2018 Samuel Adams Brewing the American Dream Cincinnati Pitch Room Competition
OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
Applications will be accepted beginning 12:01 am Eastern Standard Time (EST), April 19, 2018 and ends at 11:59 pm EST, May 2nd, 2018 (“Application Period”).
No purchase necessary to enter or claim prize. Contest open to all US residents who are 21 and older. Employees of The Boston Beer Company, Accion, and their affiliated companies and agencies, suppliers, wholesalers of alcoholic beverages, and members of the immediate families, or households of such employees are not eligible. Applicants must have an existing small business in the food or beverage industry. Craft brewers, craft cideries and craft distilleries are eligible. Applicants does not have to be a current or past beneficiary of the Samuel Adams Brewing the American Dream Program. Applicants must have a physical tangible product that can be sold at retail establishments. Void where prohibited by law. This contest is governed by United States law and is subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations.
HOW TO ENTER:
During the Application Period applicants must submit the following information via the Brewing the American Dream website: name, email, phone, business address, name of business, type of business, type of product you will be pitching, where your product is currently sold, the approximate annual production and revenue, why you are so passionate about your craft (100 words max) and what makes your product unique. All fields must be filled in. Any registration form received that is not properly or completely filled in will be automatically removed from the contest. Sponsors and their agents are not responsible for technical, hardware or software malfunctions, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled or delayed electronic communications whether caused by the sender or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this contest or by human error which may occur in the process of the entries in this contest. Sponsors reserve the right to cancel or modify the contest if they determine, in their sole discretion, that fraud or technical failures have destroyed the integrity of the promotion. If the contest is terminated due to tampering or technical difficulties prior to its expiration date, notice will be posted at www.samadams.com. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of the winner, entry will be deemed submitted by the registered user of the e-mail account, and if prize is won, it will be awarded to the registered user provided the registered user meets the eligibility requirements. Limit one entry per person per region. Pitch Room Participants: At the conclusion of the Application Period five (5) entrants will be selected on March 22, 2018 by a panel of four (4) Brewing the American Dream small business experts to participate in the Pitch Room Contest based on the following criteria:
- • Quality of application: The written application must be direct, clear, concise; the applicant should convey a passion for their product
- • Creativity and uniqueness of product: Product should be something distinctive that consumers would be excited by
- • Viability of product: The product should have the potential to be sold on shelves to the public
- • Alignment with the Boston Beer values and entrant’s passion for the product/industry: The product and the business of the small business owner pitching should align with The Boston Beer Company’s standards for producing the highest quality products
Judges’ decisions are final and binding in all respects. By participating, entrants agree to abide by these rules and the judge’s decision. Selected applicants will be notified and announced on or around March 23, 2018.
The five (5) selected applicants (“Competitors”) will receive a chance to compete in the Brewing the American Dream Pitch Room Contest in Baltimore, MD on March 27, 2018 (“Pitch Room Event”). One Grand Prize winner will be selected based on the criteria during the Pitch Room Event and will receive: extended coaching and mentoring from Boston Beer employees and a $10,000 business grant.
All federal, state and local taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of the winner. All Prizes will be awarded. Dates and times are subject to change. The Grand Prize winner and People’s Choice winner will be required to execute affidavits of eligibility and a liability/publicity release within 5 days of date notice is sent or prizes will be forfeited. Grand Prize winners and guest(s) must be 21 years of age or over and must execute and return liability/publicity release prior to travel. In the event of non-compliance the Prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate. Any prize notification returned to Sponsors as undeliverable may result in forfeiture and the awarding of the prize to an alternate winner. No responsibility assumed for lost, late, misdirected, damaged, illegible or postage due prize claims. Each winner and guest of agrees to use of his/her name and/or photograph for advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation. The finalists and winner hereby grant to The Boston Beer Company, Brewing the American Dream, and Accion the exclusive right without further compensation to the finalists or winner, in any manner or media whatsoever, including without limitation, the right to print in newsletters, press releases, magazines, or any other similar communications of The Boston Beer Company or Accion. By entering, participants release, indemnify and hold harmless The Boston Beer Company and its alcoholic beverage retailers, wholesalers and distributors, Brewing the American Dream, Accion, their parent, affiliated and subsidiary companies, advertising/promotional agencies, and the respective employees, officers, directors and agents of the above entities from and against any and all liability, claim or expense for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind caused by participation in the contest or the acceptance, possession or use/misuse of a prize or participation in any prize-related activities. No prize transfer or substitutions except as determined by Sponsors due to unavailability. No cash alternative for prize. Dates are subject to change. Sponsors reserve the right to cancel or modify the contest if they determine, in their sole discretion.
